The Prints
Giclée Printing
All prints are produced in-house using archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle German Etching 310gsm paper.
Giclée printing is a fine art printing process that uses pigment-based inks to produce highly detailed and archival prints with a wide tonal range and subtle colour variation. The combination of pigment inks and heavyweight cotton paper creates prints with depth, texture, and permanence that standard commercial printing cannot replicate.
I use Hahnemühle German Etching paper for its tactile surface and ability to hold detail softly whilst still retaining depth and richness in darker tones. The physical quality of the paper is important to me; I want the print to feel like an object rather than simply a reproduction of an image.
Printing forms an essential part of my practice and images often progress through many versions before a final print is produced. Small adjustments in tone, density, texture, and surface can completely alter the feeling of an image. Producing prints myself allows me to remain closely connected to that process and to the final physical object.
